Oh, Yes They Did! American Edition 10/15/08

Tonight we had another fabulous installment of "Oh Yes They Did!" on WECB. The theme for tonight's show was America. Here's the playlist in case you missed it:

Where to start? We talked about a plethora of topics! For starters as you all know Valeria and Candace enjoy FB stalking Olympic swimmers. This week marked a milestone - Cullen Jones accepted Candace's friend request! Woot woot! This (almost) makes up for the fact that Ricky Berens made his profile super private and deleted all of us in the process (boo!) We forgive, Ricky, but we never forget.

We also talked about our favorite supercouple - Phlochte. The thought crossed our minds, however, that perhaps there is another occupying the heart of Mr. Ryan Lochte. Considering his insane fanboy behavior, grill wearing and incessant namedropping, could it be none other than Lil Wayne that Ryan loves the most? What do you guys think? Could Phlochte be threatened by a potential "Lil Reezy" super coupling? You decide. Or maybe they could just be a triple. Lil Wayne could be the chocolate fudge on their double scoop sundae.

Since tonight is the last presidential debate we talked about our favorite politician Mr. Barack Obama. There is this AMAZING video of Obama basically throwing down for his woman when the GOP is trying to talk smack about her. It's kind of sexy... not gonna lie about it.

Check out this picture. He's a good looking man! Just throwing it out there. Is it wrong to be attracted to a Presidential candidate? I guess not since JFK was gettin' with lots of chicks! Valeria and Candace are hoping that Obama will bring it in the debate tonight.

We also talked about how he's adorable because he actually knows who the Jonas Brothers are. His daughter, Malia, is a big fan and backstage at the DNC he talked about a bet he had going with her that she would FREAK OUT if she met Nick (who also happens to be Candace's favorite - gross.)

At the Democratic National Convention Michelle said she had a "surprise" for the girls. Malia very excitedly responded with "JONAS BROTHERS?!" alas it was not.... it was her father via satellite. Just as good some would say. The girls did, however, get to meet the famous brothers when their mother was interviewed on Ellen a few weeks later. Wonder who won that $5 bet Barack and Malia had going...

After talking about Obama we wondered about the political affiliation of our favorite swimmer boys. Candace and Valeria think (and hope) that Phelps is a democrat - even though we're not sure how being from Baltimore might influence his personal opinions. We found out that Reezy isn't even registered to vote. Can't say we were very surprised. We assumed that he had made plans to register but was too busy picking up his whip from the shop with its brand new "JEAH 7" license plate to do it. Oh well. Maybe in 2012. Maybe he could put his talents to good use and do some artwork for the Obama campaign. You know.. some of that "artists for Obama" type stuff. I hear his drawings are out of this world.

We were also told by a listener that if we really wanted to get a laugh we should look up his driving violations. We'll definitely have to look into that and report back.

On a personal note, Candace revealed she had a dream about Reezy. Apparently they were dating and she was the worst, most non-supportive girlfriend on the planet. He broke a world record, called her and she wasn't feelin' it. Needless to say our bb Reezy was PISSED. He went on a rant about how she was the first person he called and she didn't even care. Which leads us to wonder a) why was she such a bitch? and b) why wasn't she at the actual event? SKETCHY! Michael is obviously a much better girlfriend. Just goes to a show, us girls can't compete with Phlochte.
