Debate Tonight!

Hey Y'all!

Now, I know that it isn't the purpose of Oh Yes They Did! to get all serious on you, but the fact remains that in this celebrity culture, politicians have become celebrities of their own (even you John McCain!).  I mean, The Bidens, Obamas, McCains, and Palins (and of course the Clintons) have graced the covers of glossies and weekly tabloids alike, and everybody is all up in there business.
I mean, seriously, think about it.  Cindy McCain used to be a pill-popper, John McCain was accused of having a child (a black one at that) out of wedlock - actually his adopted daughter, Michelle Obama is on the list of the Internationally Best Dressed, Sarah Palin's teenage daughter is pregnant, and Joe Biden . . . well, he's the boring one of the bunch.  Is it any wonder that we're so fascinated?
Anyways, the point of tonight's post is to serve as a little reminder about Debate #2.  Tonight, it's a town hall meeting with the two presidential candidates, and I'm absolutely, positively sure that all the questions will be unexpected and new (read: planted questions).  But, it's apparently part of your (not mine, cuz I'm not American yet) duty as a citizen to participate in democracy and try to not fall asleep during the debate.

PS.  If you're not registered to vote yet - GET ON THAT!  Go to maps.google.com/vote to find out if you've missed the deadline to register and how to apply for an absentee ballot - the deadlines are fast approaching.
