It's Election Day!

Man, oh man! It's finally here! Can you believe it? Well you better! You better get your butt to those polls! And get there fast cause there are some crazy long lines at most polling locations. I'm only 21 so saying that this is the most historic election of my lifetime probably doesn't mean much but I think a lot of people are saying that too so it must be true. I voted absentee since I'm in college and still registered back in my home state of NY (represent!) so I feel a little left out of the thrill. It's not quite the same when bubbling in a bunch of circles sitting at your desk - just feels like standardized testing. Plus you don't to do it on the same day as everyone else. So it's sort of like being the kid who gets taken out of the room during standardized tests. Not so fun.

Song suggestion for the occasion:
If I Had a Hammer - Peter, Paul & Mary

I didn't play it on the show cause it's pretty folk-y (wasn't sure if you guys would go for that) but it's got a great message that's definitely still relevant today. And...I suppose I'm a bit of a hippy at heart. You know, wanting peace, love, freedom and all that stuff.

Getting back the election, there has been a slew of internet campaigns for voting this year (lots of celebrities that are much richer and prettier than you telling you why you should vote and for who) but I think the BEST one I have found is this one I'm bringing to you from the kids of Ron Clark Academy. They took TI's song "Whatever You Like" and re-worked the lyrics to make it about voting. Y'all know I have a serious crush on TI so it just makes me love this video even more. This tune has been stuck in my head all day and I don't want to be the only one. Check it out.

See! You can vote however you like! And if you do, you can get a free coffee at Starbucks, a free doughnut at Krispy Kreme and a free ice cream scoop at Ben and Jerry's. Don'tcha just love Democracy?

P.S. There's also a great version of "However You Like" where the kids actually perform the song for TI. Check it out here

And now to the good stuff:

Another great night with the ladies of OYTD. Candace revealed that Jeahmaica's population has recently increased. That's right, Candace's roommate is now a proud resident of the sunny island. This girl, who shall remain nameless - we'll call her "K Force 1" - has always expressed a fondness for the backstroker but she's never been the type to get into these celebrity crushes the girls of OYTD are so fond of - not that that never stopped Candace from sharing her obsessions with her. So the other night I was showing her this wonderful video where the Speedo athletes are unveiling the LZR and being interviewed by Mo Rocca (whose humor is obviously going over his pretty little head) After viewing the video I explain how the suits are a bit awkwardly designed because the lining seems to accentuates certain areas - now I'm sure this is done for athletic purposes but it's basically like putting a giant arrow saying "crotch this way." Anyway, in order to show her how the suit awkwardly frames the swimmers' bodies, I showed her a picture of Lochte from the back - she was very pleased with this image; saying over and over what a nice ass he had. I have to agree but I must say I was surprised by this reaction. Now I don't know at which point this occurred but I distinctly remember her telling me that "If I ever met Ryan Lochte, I would jump him." Can't say I blame the girl. Can you? Honestly I think if any of us had the upper body strength and guarantee of no federal charges, we'd do the same. Anyway, she later explained that she usually doesn't like men who are that muscular but he was an exception... or perhaps, exceptional. I know she likes Matthew Matthew McConaughey and if we've learned anything from Gold Medal Mel it's that Ryan Lochte is the Matthew McConaughey of swimming so it kind of makes sense. Anyway, I knew she really had it bad when I began watching yet another video of the Florida boy and just the mere sound of his voice prompted her to scoot to my side of the couch so she could share in the glory. So "K Force 1" I'd like to officially welcome you to Jeahmaica. Where the sun is always shining, and the boys are always... well... hot.

Guess who was in Massachusetts this weekend? Lochte! Guess who didn't see him? Me! That's right. Lochte and I were in the same state and did not cross paths. It's just something I've come to accept. To me, he is mystical creature who I shall never see in real life. Heather said he's my unicorn. Sigh... I suppose he is.Also, it seems like we've only found one picture of him from the event. EPIC FAIL MASSACHUSETTS. Is there only one photographer in the entire state?!

We can't believe the election is tomorrow. It seems like it's taken forever to get here and at the same time it seems crazy that it's so close! In honor of this historic election we played this great video clip of Mos Def telling us what he would do if he were lucky enough to be elected President. He's got some great ideas including eliminating the Electoral College, lowering taxes and making America cool again (for real!) Check out the video here:

Don't forget to vote tomorrow. It might be crowded so bring a book, a magazine or a boom box! Have a voting party!

Nick Jonas is NOT 16. Okay maybe he is but I simply refuse to believe it. Just look at this kid! When I was in High School I never knew anyone that looked this good. Candace's roommate thinks she may have problem because she has a crush on Nick Jonas and on a 17 year old Josh Brolin. In her defense, she only rented The Goonies because she thought Josh Brolin looked especially attractive when hosting SNL in October and wanted to see some of his past movies. Since she had never seen The Goonies it seemed like a good choice. Now, Candace must have been far past her prime Goonies age because this film fully creeped her out and was far less enjoyable than she had hoped. All she could think about was how Corey Feldman was far too mature for his age and that that poor kid Data was a sad stereotype of character (even if slightly amusing) Also, the bats had very visible string attached to them. Anyway, getting back to the Josh-Brolin-teenager-attraction thing - I would argue that Candace is attracted to a 40 year old Josh Brolin and simply commenting on the fact that he has been attractive since the age of 17. It's more of a retrospective view of sorts. Just seeing a 17 year old Josh Brolin without seeing the hot 40 year old version might not prompt the same reaction. She's not creepy ok?! Nick Jonas is just a freak of nature. A 16 year old boy should not have perfect hair and cut lines - it's just not right! Call me in 2 years, Nick.

On a more serious note, we're sad to report that Barack Obama's grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, passed away today. We know that she was a very important part of his upbringing and this must be a very difficult time for the Obama family. We watched him give his an address at a North Carolina rally and he was obviously grief stricken. He wiped away (what we thought were) a few tears and we couldn't help but feel overwhelmed. It's like seeing your dad cry for the first time. We both look up to him so much and it's very difficult to see him go through this - especially now. "Obama Daily" posted some pictures which depicted what we had suspected when watching his address. He was, indeed, crying and as sad as that makes us it also makes us want this victory even more. We wish them all the strength to get through this difficult time and hope for much happier news tomorrow. Apparently, Mrs. Dunham voted absentee - we're glad she got the chance to vote for her grandson and hopefully the next President of the United States.

In lieu of gifts they have asked that well wishers "donate to any worthy organization in search of a cure for Cancer." Most cancer research foundations give you the option of donating in someone's name so you can honor a loved one with your donation. Candace's suggestion is to give to the Danny Federici Melanoma Fund but there are so many worthy organizations out there; you can really do your research and find the one that's right for you. If you'd like, you can send your condolences by signing Mrs. Dunham's guest book here
Note: For anyone wondering, the picture previously posted of Obama at the rally yesterday was taken down - not by request but out of respect. You can still view it at "Obama Daily" but I didn't think it had a place here. We were very moved by his display of emotion but do not want to exploit that in any way. We're just not that kind of blog.

Vote in our latest poll!

Hey y'all! I know it took us crazy long to come up with a new poll idea but we've finally got a new one up. I was inspired by the mixed reaction to the idea of Barack Obama buying up all that air time for his 30 minute special. Now that it's actually aired I'd like to know what you thought of it. Good? Bad? Did you skip it altogether and watch Pushing Daisies instead? That Ned is quite the cutie... Let us know!

BALLIN!

Oh, and don't forget to vote in the Presidential election this Tuesday, November 4th, if you're registered. We like to talk about Obama a lot on our show but, no matter who you're supporting in this election, you should exercise your right to vote. So many people around the world don't have a choice in who their leaders are so don't take it for granted. Plus those voting booth lever things seem like a lot of fun to play with!

P.S. We just put up our blipBack in the sidebar. You can use it to leave us video comments if you have a webcam or a camera phone. Camera phone messages can be sent to us at OhYesTheyDid@blipback.com

1. Maria - Blondie
2. Fat Bottomed Girls - Queen
3. Surrender - Cheap Trick
4. I'm Into Something Good - Herman's Hermits
5. Starman - David Bowie
6. Don't Bring Me Down - ELO
7. See You At the Lights - 1990s

We'd love to know what you think of our music selections. What you love/hate, what you want to hear more/less of. E-mail us at OhYesWECB@gmail.com and let us know!

Well tonight was, as always, fun filled and full of sass (precisely 50% less sass because our lady Valeria couldn't make it to the show and Candace was flying solo for the evening.) The first topic of discussion was a story put out by Page 6 of the New York Post claiming that Michael Phelps was paid a hefty 100,000 buckaroos to swim laps at some cougar's pool party. Now when I imagine this I think of a woman with really big hair, leathery, tanning bed skin and a botoxed face - but that's just me. Anyway considering the price tag, Candace thought that while, yes, this was a pretty ridiculous sum of money to pay Michael Phelps to do what he does anyway, it was a pretty sweet deal on the part of Michael Phelps because he's getting paid to do what he does anyway! If someone offered me $100,000 to drink Diet Coke and fall asleep in moving vehicles I'd sure as hell take it. Others were more critical. Michael K of D listed said "If you're going to pay that bitch 100 grand to do a few strokes he'd better do it naked and on top of you." Can't really argue with that...Whether or not this whole pool party story ts true, we can't be too sure. It was, after all, published in the New York Post and for those of you who don't know this is a "newspaper" written at a third grade reading level and chock full of spelling errors. If it is true, props to that lady because I don't know anyone who wouldn't want to have Michael Phelps as their poolboy.

Can you believe it's Halloween already? Wasn't it just August? Well around here on OTYD we like to keep the Olympic spirit alive. Apparently one of our listeners is dressing up like our man Reezy for Halloween! Sounds like a lot of fun. Just don't get drunk and do the backstroke on the dance floor. I'll bet Michael Phelps will be a popular Halloween costume this year because a) he's one of the most famous people in the universe right now and b) the costume would cost just about nothing because you'd be practically naked. We're in a recession, people! Make those costumes at home! For any of us who watch The Office we know how easy it is to make Olympic Medals out of yogurt lids so that's a start.
Speaking of finances, supposedly our Olympic peeps are not getting as many endorsement deals as expected because nobody has any dough. I guess that sucks, but Phelps doesn't seem to have a problem. Nobody can get a damn job and he's all over the place. He's got an endorsement deal with everybody. He's kind of like that kid on Halloween that hits up all the good houses first, gets all the good candy and all that's left for the other kids are the bags of pennies. Michael has all the candy and everyone else has pennies! Share the candy, Michael. You don't need all those Snickers. I'm sure Cullen Jones would like a delicious candy treat, too.

Getting back to the Reezy train, Candace did another theatrical reading from Ryan Lochte's blog. This entry was especially amusing because it contains the sentence "i know i know i am a dummy." His words, not mine. It also had plenty of "jeahs." Candace was complimented on her delivery of the phrase and felt compelled to share how it's really done, Reezy style. In this video, Lochte wins the perseverance award from the Golden Goggles. After giving what I'm sure is an unintentionally funny speech, he lets out a "JEAH!" with a passion and fervor rarely seen. Lochte makes his way to the stage at 2:00

Breaking news was revealed on today's show. Candace may have a gigantic crush on Cullen Jones. After some serious discussion about the swimmer on monday's show (and subsequent facebook stalking) her heart has grown fond of the boy from New Jersey - and being from New Jersey just makes him cuter. Not to take anything away from how significant his accomplishments are but he is a cutie pie! He has the most squeezable cheeks I have ever seen and unlike Reezy and Phelps, he has style. That's right! I know it's shocking that someone on the USMOST can dress well but he actually does. As my friend Ted would say, Cullen is splashin - no pun intended.

With the election only 6 days away there was no way a chance to talk about Obama could be passed up. Tonight Obama will broadcast a 30 minute "informercial" of sorts on several major networks including NBC, FOX, Univision and CBS. Now I don't know what the content of this thing will be but if it's anyting like a real infomercial, Candace is down. She revealed on the show that she absolutely loves infomercials - and she wasn't being ironic. She searched for "paid programming" on her channel guide at night. Her favorites include infomercials for knives, the Magic Bullet, The Showtime Rotisserie and all those music compilations. Maybe Obama will do a little "set it and forget it" action.

On the subject of Obama, one of the links in our blog is to the community "Obama Daily." This community uploads new photos of Obama... daily (get it?) Anyway, while surfing around this afternoon Candace discovered "Obama on the Road!" a collection of photos resembling Travelocity's "Roaming Gnome" in which an Obama action figure travels across California and takes pictures at interesting locations. The pictures are cute and sometimes, oddly touching. Check out the collection here.

Breaking News: Candace has a crush on TI and now he's going to jail. Why didn't anyone tell her about this? Also, why didn't anyone tell her that he has 6 children? That's a lot of kids! Now normally, I have pretty good judgment when it comes to men and I would say hey, that dude with 6 kids whose going to jail for possession of firearms... probably not for me. But TI is just so charming in interviews! In his interview with Tyra Banks he revealed that he has two 7 year old children that are NOT twins. "How is this possible?" you might ask. Well according to TI one child was born in March and one was born in June. Tyra responded by calling him a "playa playa" he quickly corrected her by saying he was simply "single single." Oh TI... I'll be your baby Mama.

Finally I'd like to address a serious problem. On ONTD_O someone posted this picture of MP that garnered some reactions that I was not pleased with. Ladies, PLEASE get a hold of yourselves! I know it's Michael Phelps but are you so blinded by your love that you cannot see how laughable this picture is?! I saw various comments claiming how "sexy" this picture was and how they were "drooling" over it. Um... are we looking at the same picture?! This straight up cheesy. It looks like a reject from a romance novel cover shoot. He has his pants unzipped, a crisp white button down (with cuffs so over sized it looks like he borrowed the shirt from his father) and a fan blasting it open and away from his chest. This may be the most un-sexy thing I have ever seen in my natural born life. This is the definition of "trying too hard." And why is he smiling at me? WHY?! Is he pleased with himself? Because he shouldn't be. I am horrified and embarrassed for him. I don't want to see any more pictures like this. You're better than this, Michael Fred!

Also, Candace announced that the ladies of OYTD are planning on attending Gold Medal Mel's birthday party and are super psyched about it! They're also planning on pulling a mission impossible and sneaking into the Golden Goggles - but this is far less likely to happen because a) Candace is afraid of authority and b) well.. doing that just sounds scary.

Shout out to Kevin and Khellie of "It's Your ECB" for having me on as their special guest today. Check out their show Wednesdays from 2-4pm. They have a guest DJ on every week!

UPDATE: Very exciting news! Crystal suggested we set up some sort of voicemail system so you guys could leave us messages. Well... we couldn't exactly figure that out but we signed up for blipBack so if you're so inclined you can leave us video comments! We really do appreciate you guys reading the blog and listening to the show so we'd love to hear from you. Check out our blipBack in the side bar ---------> (just go a little further up)

Oh, Yes They Did! 10/27/08

Thanks to everyone who listened in tonight! Shout out to Bonnie who IMed us! Here is the playlist for tonight's show in case you missed it:

1. Read My Mind - The Killers (In honor of Candace's concert/stalking experience)
2. I've Got My Mind Set On You - George Harrison
3. Randy Scouse Git - The Monkees
4. A Well Respected Man - The Kinks
5. Hounds of Love - The Futureheads

Ah, another lovely evening over at WECB. Candace told a personal anecdote of her concert experience from this past weekend (a rare treat on OYTD) She went to NYC this weekend to see her favorite band The Killers with some of her pals. They waited in line for over 7 hours just to see the boys - this is what we call dedication, people! But their wait did not go unrewarded as they did get to meet the band after the show. They waited outside a stage door of sorts and took pictures with 3 of the 4 band members as they left the venue. Candace gave Ronnie (the drummer and her favorite band member) a special t shirt as a gift to which he responses with "I'm gonna fuckin' where this. And when you see me wear it you're gonna be be like 'I fuckin' made that!'" Now... she didn't make the shirt but we think Ronnie might have had a few drinks before exiting the venue. Time will only tell if he does but it was awesome to say the least.

What would an episode of OYTD be without some talk of the USMOST? This time we got a little serious. We wondered why Cullen Jones hasn't gotten the props he so rightfully deserves. He is, of course, the second African American man to win a gold medal in swimming (and just the 3rd African American to make the US Olympic swim team!) I mean, we all know that Michael Phelps throws a big shadow but come on, that's an important accomplishment and people need to be talking to about it. It seems like Mr. Jones got screwed out some serious attention. Maybe he would have gotten some more press coverage if he had won an individual gold... or if he wasn't the slowest leg of that relay, or if they hadn't almost lost before Lezak killed at the end "keeping Michael Phelps' dream of 8 golds alive" but come on people! Cullen Jones will be in the history books! Sure Michael Phelps will be too, but there's a different kind of significance that Cullen Jones has and we just think that people need to pay more attention to that. I mean look at that swim team... one of these things is not like the others and it's Cullen Jones. He's bringing diversity to a sport that has little to none. Apparently, less than 2% of all registered swimmers in the US are minorities! We have to give it up to Cullen for doing his part to bring diversity to swimming. He established "The Cullen Jones Diversity Tour" this year and according to the website the program works to teach kids about "learning to swim, drowning prevention, swim team access, swimming as an alternate choice for athletic activities and excellence, health benefits of swimming, social environments that will foster friendships for a lifetime in swimming, increase self esteem and many other topics." Considering minorities are 4 times more likely to drown, we think this is pretty important. Hopefully now that Nike is out swimming he'll land a deal with Speedo. They could both definitely benefit from that partnership and we think we all need to see a little more of Cullen around here. Luckily, Johnson & Johnson recognized Cullen's marketability and used him in an adorable commercial. Some other Olympians were used too but... we don't really care about them. Check out Cullen's commercial as a part of their "Thanks, Mom" campaign.

Big news y'all! For those of you who are loyal to Ryan Lochte and are in the Facebook group Jeahmaica you may be pleased to know that that "His Majesty the King" Ryan Lochte may actually be Ryan Lochte. Just the other day we found out that Cullen Jones became friends with His Majesty the King proving (maybe) that this particular Ryan Lochte is not an impostor! That's right y'all, Ryan Lochte is actually in Jeahmaica reigning over all of you. All hail his Majesty!
Speaking of Ryan Lochte, we did yet another theatrical reading of his blog. This particular entry is one of my personal favorites because it mentions Mr. Jones and uses the phrase "BALLIN!" when speaking of his wardrobe. FYI while reading his blogs I stumbled upon an old entry in which he spells the word "weekend," w-e-e-k-a-n-d. Think about that for a second. I'm sure Ryan was a very special child considering in his famous story about "falling into swimming" he seems very proud of the fact that when slipping on ice, he didn't cry but laughed and splashed around in the water. Now I'm all for babies having a good temperament but it takes a very very special child to laugh when they're about to fall into an icy death.

Being that the election is so very close, we couldn't miss the opportunity to talk about our man Barack Obama. Valeria and Candace revealed that they like to have facebook wars in which they post videos of Barack Obama on eachother's walls. Not really a war per se but Barack always wins for being the most awesome/attractive/inspirational. In a recent video Valeria posted, Barack tells us about the last time he cried and it is nothing short of amazing.

First throwin' down for Michelle and now crying for bb Malia? I love you Barack!

We also talked about our man Michael Phelps who happens to be in a new commercial for Guitar Hero. Now lord knows the sight of Phelps in a dress shirt, pantless and smiling is enough to cause our ovaries to explode but has anyone noticed that a lot of these swimmers seem to be extremely awkward on dry land? I mean I know they spend a lot of time in the pool but good God! Supposedly Reezy tried to impress some girls by showing them his backstroke on the dancefloor. Really? On the dancefloor? I don't even understand how that would come up in conversation. Well I suppose if showing someone your Escalade could result in getting a BJ maybe he thought showing off his backstroke would get him a little somethin' somethin' but whose to say.

One of our girls IMed us and asked what we thought about Reezy's chest - did he or did he not wax it? Valeria seemed pretty sure that he did seeing as how he never as the stubble that would result from shaving. Candace remained unsure -is he just naturally hairless? She wasn't sure. We don't mind a little body hair here and there. For instance, when Phelpsicle isn't in serious racing mode he has a bit of hair and nobody's complaining cause boy is still lookin' fine. Plus he doesn't have much so he keeps it under wraps. Just enough for to be sexy not enough to be Sasquatch. Speaking of hair, we also talked about how we prefer the hair on their actual scalps. We both agreed that Reezy with short hair is magically delicious while Reezy with curly hair needs to be tamed a little. His $500 haircut was tasty but when left to his own devices it can get out of control (we have photographic evidence.) As for Phelps, Valeria feels that when it comes to Mikey, the less hair the better. Candace was torn - there's so many looks to choose from! Right now, his little one-inch tuft of hair he's rockin' is very endearing, especially when parted to the side. But for some strange reason she seems to enjoy when he has a Beatle-esque mop top. Can't really explain why; the heart wants what it wants.

In other news, Gold Medal Mel announced that GoldMedalMel.com would be launching soon. We're psyched!

P to the S we are trying to sneak into the Golden Goggles. And by sneak, I mean get press passes.

The Swimming Song

The ladies (and few gents) over at ONTD_Olympics never really cease to inspire these posts.

The other day in one of our infamous "off topic" posts, someone posed the question "which songs remind you of the Olympics?" Now usually for me, I make pretty strong associations between songs and events and sometimes with people. Usually what happens is this "event" of sorts will be going on and I'll just happen to be listening to a specific song on heavy rotation at the same time, thus the two become linked. This time, however, the song I associate most closely with the games was one that I had in my song library for a pretty long time and didn't make that connection until after the Olympics were actually over.

Allow me to explain. In preparation for our first show of "Oh, Yes They Did!" I wanted to, of course, discuss the games (being that the USMOST was basically my 24/7 for 8 days of the games and countless days following, it just seemed appropriate) but I also wanted to dedicate a song to the boys. Honestly, I thought all of the songs that NBC had chosen for the Olympics pretty much all sucked so... I definitely wouldn't be using any of those. Plus, I wanted to be a little more original and choose something of my own. We could, of course, go the comedic route (which we later did) and choose a song by Lil Wayne or Young Jeezy - two well known favorites of Phlochte - but for this show I wanted to play something that was a bit more serious. I mean we love to poke fun at our swimmer boys but all joking aside, watching them this summer made us all incredibly proud and even a bit emotional at times (not gonna lie, I totally cried when Phelps won his 8th gold medal) Though I could have lived without NBC playing Peter Gabriel's "Your Eyes" during a Phelpsian montage, I think the majority of us felt and knew that we were witnessing something pretty special. Hey, they make you wait four years - it better be special!

In my ongoing search to find the perfect song I looked to my own music library and low and behold - I found it. The song was sweet, a little sad and all about my favorite Olympic sport: Swimming. It was the first song we played on the show and I was very honored to learn that a listener was inspired to download it after hearing us play it. Even though it might make you a little sad and nostalgic for those two weeks in August I think it'll bring back some great memories too. For those of you who didn't hear it on the show, here is "The Swimming Song" by Loudon Wainwright III

Oh, and for those of you who are wondering. Loudon is Rufus' dad.

And P to the S, Cullen Jones will forever be my hero for being a proud member of the facebook group "That's What Those Frenchies Get;" a group dedicated to the fact that the USMOST destroyed the French in the 4x100 freestyle relay after Alain Bernard started talkin' some trash.

Oh, Yes They Did! 10/22/08

Thanks for everyone who listened in tonight. Here are the songs from this evening's playlist:

1. And She Was - Talking Heads
2. A-Punk - Vampire Weekend
3. What You Wanted (Sorry) - The Red Romance
4. Sweet Talkin' Woman - ELO
5. Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except for Me and My Monkey - The Beatles

Well tonight was a special edition of OTYD. Valeria couldn't make it, but we had a very special guest! Sarah McTeague, Candace's former radio partner and Phelps lover co-hosted the show. Sarah, at first, was very modest about her love for Michael Phelps - saying she liked his eyes, his dog, Herman, and the fact that he was... well Michael Phelps. But as Candace probed a bit more Sarah revealed what we had always suspected: she does, in fact, have a pulse and loves that swimmer body of his. Of course, we have to blame NBC for this. Not only did they produce multiple profiles of Phelpsicle - talking about his daily life, training schedule and eating habits - they profiled his body. Now you have to wonder what they were thinking when they decided to emphasize the fact that the man has "dinner plate" sized hands and gigantic feet. What are the ladies supposed to think when we hear something like that?! I have a feeling they didn't have any women in the editing booth when they were cutting this. Or maybe they only had women... who knows.

The ladies also discussed the new LZR Racer that the swimmers wore in beijing. Sure it's the fastest suit in the world, whatever % less drag and all that but what we were interested in is the fast that it flattens those boys out like crazy! I mean they are straight up looking like Ken dolls in those things. We worry about the potential for reproduction in the future. When the LZR was unveiled at Speedo's big fancy event, Golden boy Michael Phelps took center stage and stood with his arms and lets spread out Vitruvian Man style (even though we all know he's not by any means perfectly proportioned.) Now maybe it was the lights, maybe it was the fact that this suit is insanely thin and even tighter but there was a clear outline of certain.... areas. Perhaps some people were happy to see what the normal Speedo (barely) hides but I'd like to leave something to the imagination. Funnily enough, some genius out there in this world uploaded this picture to photobucket and did a little Perez Hilton style editing. Using their fantastic MS Paint skills they circled his junk, drew an arrow pointing to it and wrote "YEAH!" in big letters. If this wasn't funny enough, it was taken down by photobucket due to violation of service terms. Awesome.

It's no secret that Ryan is a master of the English language, as evidence by his blog on SwimRoom.com. He's even creating words of his own. As an homage to his literary skills, we premiered a segment on tonight's show called "An English Lesson from Ryan Lochte." The word of the day was "Rig"

Rig noun
rig·ging, rig mode
noun:
  1. chiefly athletic
  • to hurt
  • to die (in practice)
  • to have a bad practice
Practices and dry land are killing me. We can say Ryan was in rig mode.

For those of you who have tuned into the show before you will know that we like to air theatrical readings of Lochte's blog because the content of his writings are sheer genius - so much so that we read them to theme tune of Masterpiece theater. This English lesson comes courtesy of this blog entry.

Now, knowing that Sarah is such a big Phelps Phan, Candace wondered how she might feel about trying a little Lochte Love. During the break Sarah was shown a few pictures of the Daytona wonder. Sarah concluded that Lochte, in all his glory, reminded her of the Greek God Adonis - a pretty good observation I would say. We concluded that he may look like Adonis but still talks like Spicoli - not sure where that leaves him. Like we said, sometimes the boys are beautiful but there's just not much going on upstairs. Light's off in the attic, y'all!

What do you guys think?

Sarah is a very fashionable lady so I had to ask what she thought of Phelp's fashion sense. His recent unveiling of a velour hoodie, paired with white track pants accent by his favorite flip flops was definitely not his greatest fashion moment. I do realize that having the torso of a man as tall as Shaq might pose some problems when shopping for clothes but there is NEVER an excuse to wear velour. EVER. Luckily, on today's TRL appearance phelps decided not only to wear shoes but to wear clothes that fully covered his lengthy frame and they were actually nice! Imagine our surprise when we saw him in jeans, a button down and a very stylish gray sweater. Lookin' good Michael Fred! Even though the shirt looks like it's made for what Sarah calls a "normal sized man," it looks like it's doing the trick. Seeing Phelpsicle look so cute on today's show made Candace feel guilty, y'all! She started out the Olympics as a Phelps girl; willing to sacrifice her body (and uterus) to give him all the swimmer babies he could ever want. But slowly after the games ended her heart was captured by none other than skittle-loving, slow talking Ryan Lochte. Sigh.. I guess this is what Phlochte is for.

Given the fact that TRL is a complete crap show, they put him through what they call "the Wringer" where they ask "tough" questions. And by tough I mean completely idiotic. MP was a good sport and extremely gracious during his time on the show so everyone out there so says he's a D-bag needs to back off! Live it up, Michael Fred!

Did y'all know that Candace went to TRL once? She sure did. Candace revealed that her friend knows someone who works at TRL and they both got to attend a taping when the Jonas Brothers were guest hosts. Now, you are all aware that Candace is a borderline pedophile because she loves Nick Jonas but what started out as an exciting OMGTHEJONASBROTHERS moment turned out to be a pretty bad experience. Once it became clear that she was just about the person in attendance over the age of 16 and the only one not wearing a tank top, flip flops with her skin spray tanned orange - the mood dropped. Plus TRL is mad boring to tape. But the Jonas Brothers are very cute in person!

By the way, our boy Michael Fred was voted 3rd most influential male according to AskMen.com. First our blog, now Askmen.com. Seems like Michael Fred is getting pretty comfortable with 3rd place.

P to the S, the infamous escalade makes a cameo in this video at 4:41 (right after Lochte rocks his tiny red Speedo at 4:17)

We need ideas for the next poll, guys! Let us know what we should do.
